The ten-second version
Is it free? Yes - the binary preview installs through a public Homebrew tap at no cost.
Note: this checkout ships no top-level licence file, so no legal status is asserted anywhere in these docs. See General → Is there a licence? before you redistribute it.
Do I need a Mac? Yes - macOS 26.0 or later, Apple Silicon. There is no Windows or Linux build.
Can I use it instead of Resolume? It follows a similar workflow - bank/layer/clip matrix, per-scope effects, tempo sync - but it is an independent implementation, does not promise full file or plug-in compatibility. Read Limitations before planning a show around it.
Where did my set go? ~/Library/Application Support/ULTIMATEVJ/, plus an autosave every 30 seconds.
Why is there no sound? File audio is off by default.
